Protractor CARFAX Integration

With the integration of CARFAX, Protractor can help you speed up the data entry process and make it more accurate at the same time. Think of it as our reverse 411 feature for vehicles. If you turn on this option, you can simply type in the vehicle’s plate number and have CARFAX report back the VIN. The returned VIN is then decoded using Activant’s VIN decoder that is built into the ePartExpert Catalog.

When you turn on this option in the software, you are agreeing that certain vehicle and invoice data will be transferred to CARFAX on a regular basis. That information consists of:

• Repair Order Date
•  Repair Order Number
• Vehicle Identification Number
•  Vehicle License Plate Number
•  State / Province
•  Service Facility name, address and phone number
•  Vehicle Odometer
•  Vehicle year, make, model, sub model and engine
• Service Package title description

What is NOT sent to CARFAX :

• The labor lines, parts lines and dollar amounts.
• The customer's name, address and other personal information.
