NAPA Parts Catalog and ProLink Integration
Protractor Software includes and integrates seamlessly with NAPA's ProLink online
ordering system.
Protractor's Catalog User Interface
Protractor strives to provide consistency in the user interface and our integration
with online ordering systems is a prime example. One of the steepest learning curves
at the counter is to learn each supplier's catalogs and online ordering systems.
Wherever possible, Protractor uses its own cataloging and online ordering system
interface and communicates with the supplier's system in the background. This allows
you to learn one interface and use it will the majority of your suppliers. NAPA
is one such supplier.
Catalog Choices
NAPA's system uses very modern technology and provides Protractor with the ability
to integrate using NAPA's catalog adapted to our catalog interface or Activant's
ePartExpert catalog which has also been adapted to our catalog user interface. While
the user interface is virtually identical, there are few difference that make using
the ePartExpert catalog advantageous.
- Because Protractor's vehicle entry uses the Activant's make, model, and engine
listing, there is no need to tell the NAPA catalog what vehicle you are working
on.
- If you have other supplier's that use Activant's catalog it provides more consistency
between suppliers.
- If NAPA is your main supplier, then you get the extra features the Activant Catalog
provides in your default catalog.
