Time Clock

Protractor has a built in time clock function for your technicians and any other staff you wish to track time for.

Integrated Technician Time Clock Features

The time clock is designed so all technicians can use it in real time with current work orders. As the service advisors assign jobs to the technicians it will show up in the assigned technicians clock-in screen. They can clock into the work order or individual jobs. It will depend on what level of detail you want to track. Technicians can clock on to other work orders they are not directly assigned to as a way to help other technicians and track it. They can also clock into custom events that you define so that you can track time for clean up, waiting on parts or any other event you wish to define.

Manual Entry

Even though it is recommended to have your technicians use the system in real time to clock in and out of jobs and events, the system does allow for manual entry. So, if you want the management reporting the time clock will provide you can manually enter the time clock detail and still be able to benefit from the time clock features.

Job Level Clocking

If you use the time clock for job level tracking, the information you will gain from the time clock will be very detailed. For instance, each job is classified into a service category, that is defined as a vehicle system by default, and this will not only tell you how efficient a technician is on particular jobs but how efficient they are in each vehicle system. This can be beneficial for scheduling work and also for determining who needs what kind of technical training.
